Explaination of Moms Fudge Image
EXPLANATION OF MOM'S FUDGE
My mom called and said you were having difficulty with the recipe. It is
in the white notebook that my mom made of your mom's recipes,
"Mother's Chocolate Fudge". This is how the recipe translates:
1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine or butter
14.5 oz Evaporated milk (I buy 3 5 oz. cans and remove 1 tablespoon to
get 14.5 oz.)
2 lbs. sugar (comes in 2 1b bag or 4 1/2 cups of sugar)
4 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (buy 1 10 oz bag, will have left over)
(Measure out 2 cups and remove from bag 10.5 oz)
2 oz. Baker's Unsweetened chocolate (2 squares) (orange box)
1 12 oz. package Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 bars (4 oz. each) Baker's German sweet chocolate (green box)
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
In a large, heavy pot or Dutch oven (big pot) stir over moderate heat
the butter, evaporated milk and sugar.
Bring to a boil. Cover and let boil 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Turn off heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
Add the 2 unsweetened chocolate squares and stir until melted.
Add the chocolate chips and stir until melted.
Add the 3 German chocolate bars and stir until melted.
Add the vanilla and stir ion,
Add the nuts. Blend well.
